Long time no see! We have a surprise announcement today: Doki Doki Literature Club has been released for iOS and Android, available now as a free download on your mobile device!
This release was made possible by the developers at Serenity Forge working together with the technical and creative talent we have at Team Salvato. Thank you to everyone who made this happen!
The entirety of DDLC is available for free in the mobile version of the game. And, available as a paid add-on, we’ve also included all of the features from DDLC Plus, including the Side Stories, image gallery, music player, and more.
DDLC Plus features
Previously, DDLC Plus was the only way to play DDLC in full 1080p HD. Now, for the mobile version, we’ve upgraded the free base game with the HD assets, since I’d like for everyone to enjoy how lovely the artwork looks at full resolution, especially on high-quality mobile displays.
DDLC Plus includes six Side Stories, separate from the original game, which dive more deeply into the formation of the Literature Club and how the characters all became friends. The Side Stories explore the club members on a more personal level that wasn’t afforded to them in the original game (because…well, you know). The Side Stories are really substantial—they give you over 50% additional story content on top of the original game. I really put all my heart into them, so if you haven’t yet read them, I hope this mobile release gives you the chance to enjoy them for the first time.

The image gallery is also back with over 100 images, including some that weren’t included in previous releases of DDLC Plus. Aside from in-game art, the gallery includes all kinds of concept art, promotional art, wallpapers, and more. As a bonus, you can also save any of the images to your device, so that they can be used as wallpapers.
The music player has also been upgraded with the ability to play music in the background. That feature alone took a ton of work; given DDLC is a game running in a game engine, and not a media player, it was really tough to get it to play nicely with the device’s media playback features. But if we’re going to have a music player, I consider it absolutely necessary to be able to play that music in the background. Especially since it can play tracks on a seamless infinite loop, something you can’t get from music streaming services.
Accessibility features
The mobile version of DDLC also includes some new accessibility options, such as high-contrast text, improved in-game content warnings, and a webpage providing detailed full disclosure of the game’s sensitive content. We consider these newly-available accessibility options to be a first step, but there are more accessibility features and improvements we’d like to include in future updates. We’d also like to incorporate these features into the versions of DDLC and DDLC Plus found on other platforms.
IP Guidelines updates
We’re working on a thorough update of the IP Guidelines to provide additional clarity on the stance we take in certain situations, including the publication of DDLC mods and fangames on mobile platforms. The update will be available within the next couple days.
The purpose of the IP Guidelines is to be transparent about how we protect our IP, helping creators feel secure that we’re supportive of their wonderful contributions to the DDLC fan community.
Future projects
For the mobile version of DDLC, I participated in an advisory role while working hard on new projects as my personal focus. I’m really excited to eventually share some of the things I have going on. But I’ve also always wanted to see DDLC brought to mobile devices, which is why I’m grateful that we have the support to make that happen without me having to compromise my work on future projects.
I hope to have more news in 2026. Until then, happy holidays, and enjoy having Monika in the palm of your hand for once!
